Environmental Education Assistant

The incumbent will work within the Natural Resource Management Department in the Environmental Education and Recreation Division under the direction of the Environmental Educator 2 or their designee. Duties will be performed throughout the Allegany Region and will include, but are not limited to:
o Conduct environmental education programs by leading interpretive walks, preparing and teaching lessons, presenting video, slide and film programs. o Plan, prepare and build displays, exhibits and other teaching aids. o Assist in research, writing and producing educational and promotional materials. o Make recommendations for program content, scheduling programs and registering participants. o Clean, repair and maintain facilities, equipment, and exhibits. o Assist higher level Environmental Education/Interpretation and Recreation staff by preparing reports, conducting training, supervising seasonal staff and interns as assigned, and performing other support activities. o Keep detailed records and assist with organizing volunteer and internship programs.

Salary Range:
From $35298 to $45518 Annually
Minimum Qualification
One year of experience in environmental education programs; OR one year of college study with specialization in natural science, natural resources, or environmental education.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
