Water Quality Technician (1)
The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) in the Allegany Region is seeking one (1) Water Quality Technician to assist agency staff with water quality monitoring and sampling at Allegany State Park and possibly other locations throughout the region. The regional Water Quality Technician will work closely with the OPRHP regional Biologist, Stewardship Specialist, and OPRHP Water Quality Unit staff to meet regional and statewide stewardship goals. The technicians would also assist with other Natural Resource Management duties which will be determined at the discretion of stewardship staff.

Salary Range:
From $16.75 to $16.75 Hourly
Minimum Qualification
o A degree or experience in Environmental Studies, Ecology, Natural Resources Management, or a relevant discipline, such as Aquatic Ecology, Conservation Biology, etc. o Must possess a valid driver's license o Must have excellent organizational skills in field setting o Must have excellent communication skills o Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other basic computer skills o Must have an ability to work and maintain a good attitude while performing job duties in various terrain and weather conditions o Must have a strong interest in, and commitment to environmental stewardship as well as a team-oriented approach to solving environmental challenges PREFERRED SKILLS AND
Experience:
o Prior education or experience in Water Quality or similar field o Backcountry orienteering and Leave No Trace experience is a plusEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
